Yesterday was probably the quietest Easter Monday we have experienced here in the village, with very few visitors to be seen.  I really don’t know why but maybe it was down to the weather which although chilly it was dry, or people ‘watching their pennies’ in view of all the recent price increases, or families heading home ready for the return to school?  It was quiet for us too, as was the whole weekend, apart from dinner with a neighbour on Easter Sunday.

Over the weekend, I have been working on the narrative for my next vlog, covering another of my Greek recipes and I’ve planted more vegetable seeds which are in the greenhouse to encourage germination.  The greenhouse is full and will remain so until I feel the risk of frosts has passed and I can move the overwintering plants, out into the garden.  I also booked tickets for our family to see Charlie and Chocolate Factory in the Pavilion on Cromer Pier when they visit at the end of May.  Apart from this, there not a lot for me to say but I will probably have more to write about, after the Annual Parish Meeting tomorrow evening.  The meeting will be in the Parish Hall, in The Londs, starting at 7 pm.  The item on the agenda which interests us is, an update from NNDC regarding Coastal management for Overstrand.  It would be good for villagers to know, when NNDC are planning to commence clearing the promenade and remedial works and what steps, if any, they are going to take towards protecting our village along with its history.

There is a new construction of the car park, see photo below, which I think is going to be Julie’s ‘Coffee and Cake’ cabin.  Villager, Julie, currently sells her bakes from a converted horse box trailer and if I am correct, the new cabin will provide her with a lot more space and if I’m wrong, then I’ll wait to see how it will be used.
