Monday 9th January 2023 - Losses and Moving
I don’t remember hearing about so many people passing away, in the village, in such a short period of time. Over the Christmas and New Year period there have been very few days when we have not heard that someone has died. It would be unfair to families and loved ones to mention names so I will leave it there, apart from saying how their loss will be felt by those residents who knew them.
On a more positive note, Poppyland Radio have been in the process of setting up a new recording studio within the Village Hall in Northrepps. This is now up and functioning and all future programmes will be recorded in what will be referred to as, The Pod. The Pod provides space for two recording studios and an area for training etc. Expanding, is definitely the word to describe the station which went live just under a year ago in February 2022 from their then studio in the Belfry Centre. There are a number of different businesses and organisations supporting the station. These are listed on the Commercial page on Poppyland Radio’s website https://www.poppylandradio.co.uk/directory. I have been informed there is now an opportunity for companies, organisations etc. to sponsor individual programmes which will include broadcast advertisements. To this end, if anyone is interested in finding out more then, again, information is available on the Commercial page.
Well, that’s about it. This is a quiet time of the year providing us with opportunities to catch up on things indoors and make plans for the year to come. Making plans is something we can do, now there are no Covid restrictions, with more confidence. Today’s photo is of one of the many witch hazel flowers on our bush which is opening ahead of the snowdrops.
